Spectrometer UV-VIS - Ocean optics HR4000

Location: Lab 0.7
Responsible: Sónia Pereira

Description:
The HR4000 high-resolution spectrometer has a 3648-element CCD-array detector from Toshiba that enables optical resolution as precise as 0.02 nm (FWHM). The HR4000 is responsive from 200-1100 nm, but the specific range and resolution depend on grating and entrance slit choices. This combination of optics and electronics is ideal for applications such as characterizing lasers, measuring gas absorbance, determining atomic emission lines.
Spectrometer set-up used for passive optic devices characterization such as electrochromic windows consists of following elements:
- KEITHLEY 238 High Current Source Measure Unit,
- Halogen Light Source HL-2000-FHSA (Mikropack),
- HR4000 High-Resolution Spectrometer (Ocean Optics),
- spectrometer holder (Micropack Holder),
- lab made acrylic glass sample holder,
- QP600-2-SR/BX optical fibers (type – SR, core diameter - 600 μm, connector – QSMA, jacketing – BX).
