SusMatEner is a Marie Curie Doctoral Network funded by the HORIZON EUROPE programme.
We offer 15 PhD positions in materials science, for projects starting in autumn 2025. CENIMAT|i3N is involved in the supervision of 5 PhD theses:
- PhD1: Hybrid highly conducting transparent perovskite-halide perovskite solar cells.
- PhD3: Stable and transparent metallic nanowire-based nanocomposites for thermal and solar energy applications.
- PhD5: Integrating criticality and circularity assessment into the Life Cycle Analysis used for developing sustainable Materials-by-Design for renewable energy.
- PhD11: Photonic nano-structuring for solar energy harvesting.
- PhD12: New heterostructures for self-powered UV photodetection and power electronic.

Professor Elvira Fortunato was elected as a member of the Materials Engineering Admission and Qualification Board, which is part of the National Bodies of the Order of Engineers.
The ceremony for the elected bodies for the 2025/2028 term took place on March 25th.

Professor Luis Pereira was elected Regional Member of the Materials Engineering College of the Order of Engineers.
The swearing-in ceremony for the elected bodies of the South Region for the 2025/2028 term took place yesterday and was chaired by Fernando de Almeida Santos, President of the Order of Engineers.

On March 26th, at 14h00, the CENIMATi3N amphitheater will host the seminar "The Future of Space in Portugal", presented by Ricardo Conde, President of the Portuguese Space Agency.
Ricardo Conde has over 30 years of experience in the space sector and is the President of the Portuguese Space Agency since 2020. He has been a speaker at various international conferences, focusing on the role of emerging space agencies as new actors in the space sector, space sustainability, and the impact of space technologies on a sustainable planet.

Professor Elvira Fortunato was part of the panel on "The Future Products of the Forest" at the Navigator Expresso Conference, under the topic «Let's Discuss the Forest», organized by The Navigator Company in partnership with Expresso.
