SHORT CV

Sérgio Almeida completed his integrated masters degree in Micro and Nanotechnologies Engineering in 2022 by Universidade Nova de Lisboa - Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, with a masters thesis on “Enhanced bioactivity of electrospun piezoelectric membranes with embedded micro and nano particles” with the objective of producing membranes for bone tissue regeneration, from which an article was published (DOI: 10.3390/macromol2040034).

Since then he has worked as a fellowship researcher on a project (ORAiDEA LISBOA-01-0247-FEDER-039985) aiming to produce coatings for dental implants with osseointegration and antibacterial properties.

Currently working with Dr. Ana Almeida on the DynaCellCollect project (2022.01619.PTDC) as a fellowship researcher since july of 2023.

Main research interests steem from combining nanotechnology and material science for applications in biotechnology and biomaterials using different techniques. Also interested in the subjects around functional materials, tissue engineering and bioelectricity.
