Description

Raquel received her first master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidade do Algarve in 2014. In January 2018 she joined CENIMAT in the NMR lab as research fellow to work in project CleanART, under the supervision of Dr. Marta C. Corvo. In 2019 she received her second master's degree in Bioorganic Chemistry from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, also under the supervision of Dr. Marta C. Corvo. Afterwards, Raquel started to work in CO2 capture, initially in a collaboration with Petrobras, and later joined the GREENPILs4CO2 team.

Currently, Raquel is a PhD student of Materials Science and Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Marta C. Corvo, Prof. Dr. Teresa Casimiro and Dr. Marcileia Zanatta, with the thesis entitled “Development of polymeric ionic liquid-based materials for CO2 capture and conversion: The ionic liquid tour through the periodic table “.

Main scientific interests:

Materials science applied to the tailoring of porous materials, organic chemistry, application and development of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to study molecular interaction processes especially in ionic liquids and poly(ionic liquids).
