Description

Paula received her Master degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Lisboa in 2009. She finished her PhD in December 2015 where she focused on the development of multifunctional nanoparticles suitable for cancer theranostics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. João Paulo Borges, Prof. Dr. Isabel Ferreira and Prof. Dr. Carlos Novo from IHMT. Currently Paula is working in the development of multifunctional magnetic devices for biomedical applications.
Her main research interests are related to the production and characterization of magnetic and composite nanoparticles and their application in magnetic hyperthermia, MRI and drug delivery. Other interests also include thermosensitive microgels and colloidal electrospinning.
