Graduation in Physics from the FCT/UC in 1989. PhD in Surface Physics from the FCT/UNL and the Université Paris-Sud in 2003. Assistant Professor at the Physics Department of FCT/UNL since 2003. Creator and coordinator of the Tissue Engineering Group, formerly at Cefitec. Principal Investigator of the project: “Skin2: a biosynthetic second skin, engineered to treat severe burns” (PTDC/SAU-BMA/109886/2009 financed by the FCT/MEC). Co-promotor of start-ups NovaTissue and NanoSutures.
