Pos-Doctorate GRANT (Ref.ENIAC/0002/2010-1)

Contest is open to 1 Fellow of Pos-doctorate (REF. ENIAC/0002/2010-1) within the project NANOTEG-Nanostructured ThermoElectric Systems for Green Transport & Energy Efficient Applications of CEMOP-UNINOVA, ENIAC-2010-1 project, financed by national funds through the FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC) under the following conditions:

Doctorate in the field of Materials Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar, to develop research work within the framework of the tasks of the project mentioned.

The activities to be pursued include: research and development of Nanostructured thin films and devices with thermoelectric properties for applications in the area of transportation, with a special focus on aeronautics, envisaging to improve energy efficiency. The materials to develop, based on metal oxides semiconductors, and respective devices will be produced by sputtering.

The work will be developed at the UNINOVA (CEMOP-excellence Center of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics of processes), in close collaboration with the CENIMAT/I3N (Center for materials Research/Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication) of Materials Science Department of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, under the supervision of Prfessors Rodrigo Martins and Isabel Ferreira.

The grant is governed by law No. 40/2004 of 18 August (Statute of the grant recipient of scientific research); Regulation of advanced training and human resources Qualification 2010.

The grant duration is 12 months, with possible renewal for a further two periods of 12 months. The grant is scheduled to start in October 2011.

The grant amount corresponds to 1495€, as the table of values of the fellowships awarded directly by the FCT, I.P. in Country (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).

In the selection of the candidates will be given preference to candidates that have training and experience in the area of production and characterization of thin films with special focus on thermoelectric materials and devices (50%), analysis of the curriculum demonstrating through interview ability to work in a team and under pressure (30%) and prove having knowledge and skills above average to perform research in this area (20%).

The selection panel will be composed of Professors Rodrigo Martins, Isabel Ferreira and Elvira Fortunato.

The final results of the evaluation will be advertised through the ordered list by note obtained posted on visible place and the public through the portal of the FCT-UNL, being the candidate approved notified via email.

The contest is open from 15 September to October 5, 2011.
