Professor Rodrigo Martins, President of the Materials Science Department of FCT-UNL was elected President of one major European scientific society (E-MRS)

Professor Rodrigo Martins, president of the Materials Science Department of FCT-UNL was elected president of one major European scientific society (E-MRS), representing more than 100000 researchers and technologists that work in Europe, from the Atlantic to Urals.

This year, the E-MRS organized a major European Conference in Nice (May 8 to May 13), with over 3800 participants and 150 booths!

The E-MRS Headquarters in Strasbourg, France is and has been an active voice in definition of the 8 th EU Framework Programme, in defining new  strategic areas of the European Institute of Technology . It maintains partnerships withtheir global counterparts in the USA, China, Brazil, Australia, Índia and Korea and partnerships with other key organizations, particularly Wiley and Nature Materials.
