Andreia Lopes received her B. Sc and M. Sc degree in Materials Engineering from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2009. She is currently working as a researcher in a project on development of a optical microsensors based on rare-earth doped phosphate glass (SENSGLASS project). She was a researcher in a project on new glasses and glass-ceramic composite materials (2010, FCT/UNL).
