Open Post-doc positions in photoelectrochemical solar fuel production at EPFL

 
The Laboratory for Molecular Engineering of Optoelectronic Nanomaterials (LIMNO) in the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne invites applications for Post-Doctoral positions in developing solution-processable semiconductor thin film electrodes for application in robust and inexpensive photoelectrochemical solar fuel production devices. Starting date: The positions are open for February 1st 2017 or after.
 
Position: The overall goal of the work will be to advance development of an economically viable photoanode/photocathode tandem cell for solar hydrogen production via water splitting. The successful candidate is a highly motivated individual who will be expected to work at the interface of inorganic materials synthesis, in-depth materials/electrochemical characterization, and device fabrication/engineering. The initial appointment will be for one year at a salary of approximately 75'000 – 80'000 CHF/year depending on qualifications. Contract extension is possible based on mutual agreement.
 
Requirements: A PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science/Engineering is generally required. A candidate possessing practical experience in semiconductor materials preparation and photoelectrochemical device fabrication is specifically sought for this position. The candidate should be enthusiastic about working in the atmosphere of a young and dynamic research team and will also be encouraged to pursue his/her project(s) independently.
