Rafaella Magalhães was born in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, in 1974 and graduated in Faculty of Dentistry at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brasil in 1995. From 1995 to 2000 she worked part-time as a general dentist in her private clinic in Belo Horizonte and participate as a collaborator in Pediatric Dentistry postgraduate course in the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brasil and cooperated at the Surgery in Pediatric Dentistry unit in the same institution. In 2001 she started her postgraduate training in Orthodontics and received her specialist and Masters certificate in 2003 from the Faculty of Dentistry of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. She then moved to Lisbon, Portugal, where she maintains a private practice at Spa da boca Dental Clinic, limited to orthodontics. She is member of the European Orthodontic Society and she is a collaborator in the CENIMAT (Centro de Investigação de Materiais / Materials Research Center). As a hobby she photographs.
