SHORT CV
Duarte Oliveira concluded his Integrated Masters degree in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering in November 2023, with a thesis based on optimizing the hydrothermal synthesis of thermochromic materials using microwave irradiation, specifically, the synthesis of monoclinic vanadium dioxides coated with silica for passive thermochromic smart-windows with enhanced stability and transparency.
His current scientific research is focused on the synthesis of transition metal and ionic liquid complexes to form high-stability thermochromic inks capable of being deposited using low-temperature methods such as flexography and screen-printing. The thermochromic and physicochemical properties of these inks are characterized primarily through differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetry, viscometry, raman spectroscopy and colorimetry.
